Retouching

The following are examples of my attempts at retouching some pictures using a couple of different methods. The first involves duplicating the base lase, applying a Gaussian blur to the copy before setting its blending mode to Overlay which creates the efect you see here.

The second method is largely identical except that instead of using the Gaussian blur it uses the Dust & Scratches filter instead. This wiped out a lot of detail initially but by creating a mask and using brushes of different opacities it was possible to then bring detail back to certain areas such as the hair. The image here shows a comparison between retouched areas on the left and the original photo on the right.
